The 10 Leadership Principles
How leaders approach and perform their day-to-day management activities determines if they can effectively shape and develop an environment that increases employee engagement, allows productivity to expand, and ensures the organization’s goals are met. Mindful management is based on quieting our minds and moving to a more conscious and aware management style that establishes a defined culture, focused on the tactical as well as the strategic.
This book presents the 10 leadership principles that must be understood, consciously developed, and mastered if leaders are to create the right environment for an organization to thrive and grow. Each principle is presented in a compressed format allowing the concepts to be quickly understood, studied by a leader or entire leadership team, and action taken to transform an organization.
Short reflective and observation based self-development exercises are included to move the organization to a more focused management approach, reinforcing and expanding on the principles being covered. Getting everyone on the same page when defining or changing an organization’s culture is fundamental. As with any successful sports team every member needs to be using and following the same playbook.
The last principle discussed in the book "Leaders Take Action" is by far one of the must important and often the most challenging. To be effective at transforming an organization, leaders must make the decision to act and then follow through.
